İnsan Fotoğrafı Çekmek Kolay Bir İş Değil
In this Turkish-language interview I talk about the beginning of my photographic life, my first exhibition, years of travelling through Anatolia, and the social documentary projects that later became the main direction of my work.
The conversation also covers my work with Roma communities, the Grand Bazaar masters, Yörüks and Christian Arabs, as well as the importance of remaining productive and working on long-term projects.
From the Interview
“For a good photograph, you need to become invisible. To do that, you have to become part of the subject and be accepted by the people you photograph.” This approach became one of the foundations of my work with people.
